We pay attention to events in Russia
BREAKING NEWS | New World Translation Remains Banned in Russia
Today, the Leningrad Regional Court denied our appeal of the Vyborg City Court’s August ruling that banned the Russian-language New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT), declaring it an extremist publication. Approximately 30 people attended the hearing, including representatives of the Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States embassies.Several times during the course of the hearing, the defense presented clear evidence demonstrating the bias and unqualified nature of the court-appointed expert study, which claimed the NWT is not a Bible, paving the way for it to be declared “extremist.”
The so-called experts were resolute in their claim that the NWT is not a Bible because it allegedly does not refer to itself as one. The defense, however, drew attention to page five of the 2007 Russian-language NWT, which clearly states: “This is a new translation of the Bible into Russian.” The defense criticized the so-called experts, who worked for 287 days on their review and yet missed this simple fact in the third paragraph of the NWT’s foreword.
When questioned, one of the court-appointed experts further defended her original claim by stating that the NWT cannot be considered a Bible unless it is marked "by the blessing of the patriarch" or matches word for word with such a translation. The “experts” also objected to the use of God’s personal name, Jehovah, and claimed that the text of the NWT does not support certain church dogma. The judge rejected any motion by the defense for a new unbiased expert study of the NWT.
After their appeal was rejected today, our brothers have no other remedy available within the Russian legal system and will submit the case to the European Court of Human Rights.
Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world are confident that no human institution can succeed in wiping out God’s Word and that present attempts to prevent its spread will ultimately fail.—Isaiah 40:8.
How will the situation evolve? |
We all know this proverb, do not we?
The Word of God, or the most sublime guide above all the "wise men", is pointing us in a strong and clear (for months now) events that we should pay attention to and yet, apparently, there seem to be many people, at this moment, they are looking stupidly "the finger".
They do not look away even a few inches, not even by mistake.
The various blogs of the so-called "aware" (let alone the "not aware") are squeezing their brains to try to interpret "the increase of the anointed or those who take the emblems", are putting under the magnifying glass "the dinners representatives of the governing body ", are asking how to streamline paperwork and how to isolate the" theft of theocracy "and even make sterile debates to try to understand if Revelation was written before 70 BC, if the 144,000 are really literal and so on.
Among these there are many who have experience and take the directive among the congregations - Job 12:12
"Then he also said to the crowds: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, at once you say, ‘A storm is coming,’ and it happens. And when you see that a south wind is blowing, you say, ‘There will be a heat wave,’ and it occurs. Hypocrites, you know how to examine the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to examine this particular time?" - Luke 12:54-56
The Word of God is able to give us a knowledge and wisdom superior to any other guide but if the majority of us are not able to evaluate what to pay attention, what kind of guidance are we really following? - Psalm 119: 97-100
Obviously we ourselves can not be sure that the current situation in Russia is exactly the one described in the scriptures but surely we can not be questioned about the fact that we should pay attention to it.
Where does trust end and laziness begins?
Even those who have absolute confidence in the leadership of this governing body will have to read and meditate on the Word of God, is not it?
If the same governing body admits that it is not infallible, will it be necessary to admit, for intellectual honesty, at least the possibility of being wrong?
This in general does not happen and then it is legitimate to observe that it is not just "loyalty" but true laziness.
It is much easier for someone else to do research for us, to think for ourselves and to tell us what to believe - 2 Peter 3: 1, 2; 2 Corinthians 13: 5
The next article will assume a series of dates and events related to the "suppression of continuous sacrifice" and since absolute certainty will only occur when a strong and generalized persecution will begin in the territories of the former Soviet Union, the article could be completely inaccurate .
Each of us is free to focus on any error, if you wish, but those who care about the warning to "pay attention to the prophecy" will overcome the obstacle.
Some articles may also be incorrect, but at least we will not be guilty of the indifference and indolence that pervades many congregations.
If the greatest commandment includes loving Jehovah with all "understanding and strength", at least we will endeavor to do so - Mark 12: 28-33
Perhaps we will be foolish and reckless but not lukewarm - Revelation 3: 14-18
Do not fall asleep right now.
